When Afsaneh first connected with George at a wedding, she thought it would never come to anything as he’d been living in Germany for years. However, a quick chain of phonecalls from his sisters led to them going on their first date before he returned home, and seven months later he moved back to England for good to be with the lovely Afsaneh, as they just knew that it was right. He proposed on Christmas Day five years later, when Afsaneh was least expecting it, presenting her with their wooden advent calendar which is normally filled with chocolates but this time a ring was in the drawer! Once they’d celebrated, the date for their wedding was soon set, as why wait?!

 “The Alice Rose Bridal experience was just wonderful. I originally went to try on a particular dress – I didn’t want anything too over the top as it needed to fit in with our low-key vibe. It was fit’n’flare and when I tried it on it just wasn’t right. However, Donna knows exactly what suits you and found a beautiful lace dress which I instantly fell in love with – and it was well within my budget! It fit perfectly but I said I would want it shorter. Donna sent me off for a coffee and when I got back Galina, the seamstress, had pinned it up and it was just perfect. It was such a lovely experience and the service was flawless. I worked in retail for several years and don’t like to be pushed and this was the opposite – it felt like having a chat, comfortable and no pressure.”

“My dress, Isla, was ideal for my low-key wedding day. It felt so comfortable and wasn’t too over the top for the registry office yet everything about it was just so lovely. We wanted the day to feel like we’d just gone out for a meal with our besties and chose a venue where we could have privacy but be totally relaxed, with live acoustic music and a chilled out vibe. My dress fit in perfect – relaxed and yet completely gorgeous in every way.”

“I especially love how Isla swishes. I had a slow dance with George and then a faster dance with my son, with him twirling me around, and my dress looked amazing!”
