Amy and Lloyd’s joyful celebration
Having originally planned to get married in 2020, Amy and Lloyd’s wedding was a long time coming but as Amy puts it, it was “everything and more”. Having met at work, with friendship evolving into something more romantic, their wedding day was five years to the day since their first date, which we think is proof that everything happens for a reason. Lloyd proposed to Amy in Cape Verde after a glorious day chilling on the beach, and Amy loved that it was a private affair on their hotel balcony rather than in public as it made it just about them. The couple were also keen to have a wedding to reflect them, with a chilled out, easy-going vibe throughout, and had stunning silk flowers (we love how this will help keep the memories going forever) and, wait for it, a PORKPIE WEDDING CAKE! Oh to be a guest at their wedding!
“From day one I was so nervous about trying on dresses as I had no idea what would suit me. We came to Alice Rose first and started ruling certain styles out and then looked to see what was in other boutiques. However, I kept on being drawn back to Alice Rose – there’s something about Donna and her enthusiasm that’s so infectious, plus I really liked the idea of buying a dress in my home town. When I returned, Martini had just arrived in the shop and Donna said, “Trust me with this; try this one on!” It was just perfect, especially as we had been drinking Pornstar Martinis in Zamani’s the night before and looking at how gorgeous the Alice Rose boutique was opposite!”
“I liked how Martini was super comfortable and the off-the-shoulder sleeves made me feel like Belle from Beauty and the Beast. It’s such a classic, timeless style and I bought a belt from Alice Rose too to make it more sparkly – I love how this meant that I’d made it my own. I borrowed my auntie’s veil for my something borrowed and so many people commented on the overall look.”
“It rained on the morning of our wedding including when we were having our photos taken so Lloyd gave me a piggyback to save my dress getting covered in dirt – I think it says a lot about the comfort of the dress that he was able to do this! Saying this, I absolutely loved how it was big enough to make a real statement on the dancefloor – I had so much fun dancing about in it!”
“As I said, I was super nervous about trying on dresses, but I’m so glad I put my trust in the team at Alice Rose. My advice to anyone would be trust in your experience: you know what shapes and styles suit people and how to make people feel great!”
