Real Bride Charlie in Ava by Eddy K

Charlie and Matt brought all the cosiness and joy of Christmas to their December wedding at Prestwold Hall. With Matt in his military green uniform and Charlie in her breath-taking Mikado gown, the day was a beautiful celebration of love and friendship. And how’s this for a proposal story? When Matt proposed on top of Helvellyn in the Lake District, little did they know that a complete stranger had captured the moment on his camera. He posted it on a Lake District Facebook site with a quest to find the couple, and one of Matt’s friends spotted Matt down on one knee and shared it! What a way to get such a special moment captured!

“When I booked my appointment with Alice Rose, I had no idea what I wanted and was really just going to get an initial idea of cost, how long the dress would take, that kind of thing. Donna offered lots of advice and was really helpful. I tried on a handful, including a “wildcard” and all of a sudden I knew the “wildcard” was the one as I just felt like me. I think a lot of brides feel the pressure to go for something they “should” wear, or feel nervous that they won’t find “the” dress, yet the whole process was really relaxed and Donna was so reassuring. We loved the experience so much that my sister and best friend have also now chosen their dream dresses at Alice Rose!”

“I had originally thought I’d go for a slim fitting dress, as this is what I usually wear to balls (I get to attend lots of balls being a military wife!), but when I tried these on it felt like I was just going to another ball and it wasn’t special enough. Then I tried on my Eddy K dress and instantly felt like a bride.”

“I loved the way another dress I tried on had buttons all the way down to the train, so Cherilyn added these to my dress. I feel like it was perfect for Christmas as it had gorgeous sparkle at the neck, and I absolutely loved the fact that it has pockets! My grandpa gave me a hanky to put in it and it’s still in my dress to this day as it meant so much to me.”

“My advice would be to get photos! We really weren’t up for lots of photos of us, but now we wish we’d taken our photographer up on having a practise shoot as we would have felt more comfortable with having our pictures taken on the day and would have lots more memories to frame.” We don’t know about you, but here at Alice Rose we think Charlie and Matt looked naturals!
