Real Bride Charlotte in Imperial Topaz by Dando London

Having always planned to get married at Gretna Green (with a larger celebration back home), Charlotte and Andrew couldn’t believe their luck when they were able to get married in August 2020 after all, taking advantage of the tiny window of opportunity before the country went into lockdown again. They got to marry on the day they’d got together at a Young Farmers Ball seven years previously, and the Scottish sun even made a rare appearance for them. Although in true 2020 style a zoom link was provided as they were so restricted on guests, the couple ended up enjoying the fact that the day was so intimate. That doesn’t mean to say that they don’t have a blessing planned for the same day in 2023, so that they can celebrate with dearly loved family and friends, and Charlotte has already said it’s the perfect excuse to return back to the boutique to get her second dream dress!

“My Alice Rose experience was just lovely. I felt so much at home straight away and I felt like instead of going in for the hard sell, Donna listened for what dress I actually wanted. I love the Dando dresses, and had actually screenshotted Imperial Topaz, so when I saw it on the Alice Rose website I thought, they’ve got THE dress! I tried on so many other dresses but I kept on going back to it. I knew Imperial Topaz was the one.”

“I wanted a big poofy ballgown rather than full lace and sparkle, and I knew that an A-line would suit me. I love the Mikado silk and although I was told it would get dirty, Donna reassured me it would be fine and she was totally right. The weight of the Mikado makes it feel like you’re wearing something special, and I love how it has pearl detail but it’s not full on. The slight floral pattern suited my second wedding perfectly (the one I didn’t end up having!) and it has no back and a super flattering front. I just love it!”

“My dress fit the venue perfectly. The train flowed out and covered the steps outside the Blacksmith’s Shop and was just right and the whole dress looked great in the photos, especially with the gorgeous hydrangeas in the background.”

“My one regret is that I didn’t have a veil – I should have listened to Donna! I will definitely be having a veil next year! My biggest piece of advice though is go with your heart. I saw so many gorgeous dresses but I would have regretted not picking Imperial Topaz. It made me feel so good – I love that dress!”
