There’s definitely sea and sunshine in abundance in the love story of these two! Having met on holiday in Tenerife, Laura and Simon didn’t start dating until they returned to the UK (despite a distance of over a hundred miles between them). Simon’s proposal was on their favourite UK beach – Barafundle Bay in Tenby – and he used their pug, Bertie, as his wing man! When asked to join Simon and Bertie for a picture with the sea as a backdrop, Laura realised that Bertie was sporting a brand new collar with a bow tie and a pet tag saying, “Mummy, will you marry Daddy?” and that Simon was down on one knee. How adorable! It seems only fitting that the couple decided to get married in Cyprus – because they had never been - and my goodness was there a stunning beach!

“I decided that I wanted a Dando London dress and this is when I found Alice Rose Bridal. With it being August 2020, I knew it would be hard as I was only allowed to bring my Mum, but the Alice Rose team zoom-called my bridesmaids so that they could live stream and communicate with me whilst I was trying on the dresses. I found the fact that face coverings were mandatory heart-breaking as my thoughts were how am I supposed to know that the dress suits me if my face is covered up, but I was greeted with a warm welcome and made to feel very at ease. I fell in love with the dress for how it felt on me; it made me feel so sexy and elegant. The beads, pearls, sleeves, and general design of the dress sold it. After I picked my dress, the team allowed to Bridesmaids to go in the store and pick me a head piece to suit my dress.”

“Covid cases were rising and our wedding was postponed until a year later. During this time, Alice Rose bridal kept hold of my dress in storage and kept it safe for me ready for my new seamstress appointments in early 2022. Then in February 2022, I found out that I was expecting, meaning on our wedding day I would be 19 weeks pregnant. I had concerns that I would not fit into my beautiful wedding dress. However, after multiple appointments with seamstress Cherilyn, my dress fit perfectly and a week before our big day I popped into Alice Rose Bridal and purchased a stunning veil and travel box.”

“The dress felt amazing on the day, not too hot and airy. It flowed nicely and allowed me to move well in the dress. The seamstress even altered the sleeves slightly so that I could lift my arms up to dance and hug my new husband.”

“I would highly recommend somewhere like Cyprus for a non-traditional wedding. The make-up artist and photographers were through the hotel - it was so stress free and easy! We just booked the wedding hotel, venue, bits and pieces for the day that we wanted and just literally turned up and double checked it when we were there. We had 48 guests, so it was a big old do, but it turned out amazing. The food and drinks were incredible, and the staff couldn't do any more for you! My tip for future brides would be to have your hair and make-up done professionally before trying on your wedding dress – it makes such a difference.”
