Bring some sunshine into your life with Laura and Richard’s gorgeous sun-drenched wedding in Cyprus. Even the proposal was exotic! After being together for seven years, having met through friends, the couple were on a cruise over Christmas and New Year with Laura’s family, when Richard took Laura on a walk on a beach in Malaysia. It was getting dark so there weren’t many people around, and Richard proposed to her right there on the beach. How wonderful! They decided to get married in Cyprus as it was Laura’s dream wedding destination. It was a special place for Laura as she’d been there many times with her family, but Richard loved it too! They then had a party in Melbourne three months later, as this allowed them to celebrate with more people, plus no children meant they could all let their hair down!

“My experience at Alice Rose Bridal was lovely, beautiful. I thought I’d already picked my dress at another boutique, but Alice Rose is opposite a wine bar that Richard and I always go to, so I really wanted to see what was there. We picked out seven dresses and when I tried on the first one I thought to myself, I really like it. I tried on the rest, but when Donna asked if I wanted to try any more I asked to try on the first one again and both Mum and I burst into tears! I knew it was the one.”

“My dress, Paris by Eddy K, was different to what I thought I’d pick, as I didn’t think I’d want something that showed my arms or hugged my figure, but I loved it. It wasn’t too puffy for Cyprus – the ceremony was very hot but I wasn’t, and that’s thanks to my dress. It just worked. It was simple and not too much, but had beautiful detail on it – perfect for my venue and for me!”

“I got everything from Alice Rose – my shoes, my headpiece, my veil, my bridesmaid dresses… My veil and headpiece both had diamante pieces which really sparkled and shone in the sunshine, and I chose a long veil to compliment the long train of my dress. The venue had lots of stairs and the train and veil flowed down the stairs in such a beautiful way. I got my little girl’s dress from Alice Rose too, and Galina took part of my dress and some of the chiffon from the bridesmaid dress to create a band for her dress, which I thought was a lovely touch.”

“My advice when looking for a dress is that you’ll know when it’s your dress. I think you have to have a cry – that’s when you know! When it comes to the wedding itself, don’t overthink it. It’s one day and it goes really quick, so certainly not worth stressing over!”
