A wedding full of sunshine and live music, Lucinda and Ben’s wedding is a treat for us all. As Lucinda puts it, meeting Ben was fate. She was supposed to be going to Leeds on a girl’s night out, but when the Airbnb cancelled last minute, they decided to change location to Birmingham. It was there, in a bar, that her friend started chatting to Ben’s friend, so Lucinda started chatting to Ben, they spoke for hours, and the rest is history! Three years later they returned to Birmingham for their anniversary. They were sitting enjoying a lovely meal when the couple sitting next to them, who were there celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary, started asking when they were going to get married and telling Ben that he shouldn’t make her wait. In the end, Ben waited for Lucinda’s back to be turned to show the couple the engagement ring that he was planning to propose with at the end of that very meal! They quickly gave Ben and Lucinda some privacy, Ben proposed and then the wedding planning commenced! They choose Alrewas Hayes for their venue as they liked the Italian vibes: they’d loved to have got married in Italy but they wanted to be surrounded by all of their friends and family so this seemed the best of both worlds. When Donna called to introduce herself and discuss the wedding it felt like I was talking to a friend, and when I arrived in the boutique Donna and her team made me feel so comfortable and special. “My dress, Katrina by Romantica of Devon, was a complete wild card! I had always pictured myself in a princess dress, but none of the princess dresses I tried on gave me that feeling that everyone talks about. Donna suggested a fit’n’flare dress and I wasn’t sure as I feel I have a curvy figure but when I tried it on I felt like a million dollars. She knew! I did have a little wobble just because it wasn’t what I’d been imagining all of these years, but Donna was so understanding and said I could come and try it on as many times as I wanted to put my mind at ease. It was clear to me that it was absolutely the perfect dress.”

“I loved the scoop back detail and all the sparkle! It had a detachable cowl back which I wore for the ceremony but then took off for the dance floor, and I loved how I could change the dress for the evening in this way. The dress perfectly suited the sunny spring day and complimented the Italian feel of the venue. It was a super classic dress for a super classic venue.”

“My advice when picking your dress is trust your gut and go with the feeling. Go in with an open mind as you never come out with what you thought you would! When it comes to your wedding, don’t stress – the little things that you worry about you really don’t notice on the day. And make sure you take in every moment – it goes so quick!”
