Real Bride Mel in Anastasia by Eddy K

Originally scheduled for July 2020, Mel and Ben’s wedding in July 2021 was the celebration everybody had been waiting for. Their initial plan of marrying in St Tropez gave way to Tortworth Court Hotel, a beautiful venue covered in fairy lights a friend had seen by chance, and the wedding soon became the event of the year for friends and family who hadn’t seen each other in so long. The day was hot and beautiful and, as Mel beams, they had an “unbelievable time”. Well worth the wait…

“My experience at Alice Rose was absolutely awesome. If it wasn’t for Donna, I don’t think I’d have found my dress. My first visit at Alice Rose was my first time in a wedding dress shop and I had my heart set on a certain dress that Donna was trying to get hold of, so she’d suggested I tried on different shapes and styles in the meantime. I picked anything and everything and had a lovely time, then tried on a dress that was nothing like what I was planning to wear. As I stepped into it, Donna could say nothing but “OH!”; we looked at each other and I burst into tears. My bridesmaid said I looked like a Disney princess and I felt like one too! I returned with another friend, and then with my Mother-in-Law, still saying I loved it but wasn’t going to get it, but everyone agreed that the dress was just perfect on me.”

“Now I wouldn’t even think about wearing another dress – my Eddy K dress was unbelievable. I loved how simple it was yet it was detailed at the same time with some stunning beading. It had lace around the bottom and under the top layer there was a layer of glitter tulle. I had a hoop underneath which I took off after the ceremony as the day was so hot!”

“My dress fit my venue perfectly – both were so beautiful without being overcomplicated. As a bride you want to look your best on your wedding day and I didn’t need to go on a crash diet as my dress made me feel so good as I was. In fact, I felt a million dollars.”

“The day goes so quickly so try to make the most of every moment and try not to stress too much. Don’t worry about what other people will think, or that everything has to a certain way. Just make sure everybody has enough food and enjoy it!”
