When you hear that the groom has re-created the wedding venue in Lego - complete with Lego versions of the bride, the groom and their cat - for their super creative wedding stationery, you know we’re talking next level celebration! Throw in a flamingo cake and some space hoppers, and one adorable couple – well, we could explode with excitement! Having met in 2013, Nicola and Mark got engaged in August 2021 on holiday in Northumberland, a destination they had both always loved. The lovely pair had decided to go for a walk on the beach, with the sun shining and Bamburgh Castle in the background. Mark loves Lego and photography and combining the two, so Nicola thought nothing of it when he stopped at a bench under the pretence of doing some Lego photography. However, next thing she knew he was proposing – Nicola was so excited that she doesn’t think she said yes or no, she just let out a squeak! And as these gorgeous photos show, the sun was shining again for their wedding day, a day full of sparkle and joy!

“What can I say about my Alice Rose experience? Can I do it again?! What made it special for me is that I didn’t feel like a customer: you were all so excited for me and were genuinely interested in hearing how I got engaged and getting to know me. It was a lot less daunting than I thought it would be as you made me feel relaxed immediately and made it into an occasion, with so many nice moments with my Mum and best friend. I felt no pressure – you did a great job at making sure we enjoyed the whole experience rather than feeling like I had to find the perfect dress immediately. When I came back for my accessories appointment we felt like kids in a sweet shop trying on every tiara. It felt like I was in this sparkly treasure chest and it was so much fun! I was made to feel like everyone at the boutique was always there for me and that you understood me - I always had full confidence in Alice Rose.”

“In terms of choice of dress, I didn’t have an image in mind of what I wanted and this made me quite nervous before I arrived. However, I was encouraged to try on lots of different styles and I’ve discovered I really like sparkle! Paris by Eddy K was one I’d initially picked out to try on – it caught my eye as it’s just like my engagement ring, not overly “blingy” but with lots of subtle sparkle! I’m a sucker for sequins and embroidery and it has lots of soft, romantic layers giving it an ethereal feel. Put simply, it was me in a dress.”

“Paris suited the ambiance of the day and the style of wedding we wanted – romantic, informal and a bit quirky! The floral theme of the embroidery fit the orangery of Prestwold Hall wonderfully and the clear sequins were so subtle but caught in the light nicely. We were lucky to have lots of sunshine on our wedding day – a perfect day for sparkles!”

“Looking back, even when we were deep in wedmin we still had some of the most fun times, so my advice would be to try and make the most of every moment. There will be moments when you start to panic that you’re running out of time but try and enjoy the experience – trust that you’ll find your dress, for instance, and that you’ll feel incredible in it! Go for a dress that you feel comfortable in and that shows your personality and if you can, try and spread out the moments as they’re so much fun and they’ll be over before you know it!”
