Amy and Craig’s gorgeous wedding was what they’d always dreamed of and, as Amy muses, is proof that dreams can come true. Having been together since 2012, they were on a walk round Market Bosworth Country Park, practising recall with their adorable golden retriever, Iris, when Amy saw something around Iris’ neck. On closer inspection, she saw it said, “Daddy has a question to ask you,” and of course the answer to the question was yes! They began planning their dream wedding straight away, and as soon as they arrived to look around Mythe Barn they knew it was what they were dreaming of. Next step, Amy’s dream dress.

“It’s always been a dream to get a dress from Alice Rose. I found a photo on my phone from years ago of a dress that I’d saved from the Alice Rose website in the hope that one day I could get something like it! The boutique looks so welcoming and it’s so beautifully decorated, and Ashby is such a special place to me. When my time came, everyone was so welcoming and friendly – I felt like a friend and I actually miss them now as I spent so much time with them in the run up to the wedding! Donna, Joanne and Galina all made me feel like I was the only person that was important – it was all about me and I can’t thank them enough.”

“I loved that it was a private appointment so there were no other brides trying on dresses at the same time. I decided to take my Mum but not my bridesmaids, so that I could surprise them on the day. I never felt rushed or pressured – I was able to take time trying on veils, hairpieces and shoes – and I found the website really useful to see what kinds of things I liked.”

“The dress I chose, Irina by Romantica of Devon instantly felt special because the name was such a magical link with Iris, our dog. I loved the neckline, the buttons down the back and all of the lace. I felt so special in it. I’d seen it on the website so was keen to try it and I think you know when it’s the right one – it was perfect. I felt so comfortable wearing it both inside and outdoors. We were so lucky with the weather and it was perfect for walking through the wild flowers. I kept my veil on all day – I didn’t want to take it off and could have kept it on all day. I really loved being a bride and wanted to make the most of it!”

“My advice is to make an appointment to try your dress on after your hair trail. I had a change of mind after my hair trail and went for a completely different style of hair after seeing it with my dress. I found it so useful to see what worked for me. My tip for the day would be to have a sweetheart table – it gave us a chance to spend some time just the two of us as the day goes by so quickly.”
