Jenna and Adam met through work and give hope to us all in that when they first dated, it didn’t work out, but when they tried again five years later, it ended in marriage and their own special happily ever after. Adam proposed during lockdown, but didn’t let this stop him being super romantic. On their anniversary he recreated one of their first dates but at home, cooking the exact meal they’d chosen. After the meal he gave Jenna a teddy bear with a love-heart necklace and on closer inspection she realised that on it were inscribed the words “Will you marry me?”. After the initial surprise had subsided Jenna of course said yes, and wedding preparations began. As Jenna says, Prestwold Hall captured everything they wanted as it was so grand and beautiful, and the next step was finding a dream dress that would fit such a venue.

“As soon as I walked into Alice Rose Bridal I knew that it was the only place I would want to go to to find my dress, and it was indeed the only place I went to. It’s such a pretty place and Donna was amazing. I had no idea what I was doing but was reassured that this wasn’t at all a problem and in fact meant that I could have fun taking a look at anything and everything! I originally thought I’d go for a fishtail but my Mum and best friend picked Magnolia by Eddy K to try on and even though it was way pouffier, I loved it!”

“I love lace and would wear lace every day if I could. I wouldn’t have necessarily chosen a coloured dress, but the champagne tones of Magnolia felt so special, and Donna remarked that even though I’d tried on other dresses, this was the one that I’d smiled at the most and she was right. I loved how it could be strapless or not – it was lovely not to have to choose and it wasn’t until the second to last alterations appointment that I decided I wanted to keep the straps for security. Cherilyn, the seamstress, was fabulous – the dress was a lot longer than me and there was a lot of lace to remove!”

“Magnolia fit my venue perfectly – the princess vibes were exactly what was needed for the grandeur of the stately home, and she looked beautiful. However, she wasn’t nearly as heavy as I’d anticipated and I was still able to dance the night away. It was easy for people to position the train so nobody stood on me either – which was a bonus!”

“My advice is don’t fixate on the little details that might go wrong, because you really won’t care on the day! The day will fly by, so make the most of it!”
