Rosalyn and Mitchell knew they wanted something different for their wedding: something intimate so they could spend more time with friends and family, and somewhere where they didn’t have to worry about the weather. Cyprus seemed the perfect choice – and it was! They got married high up in the hills in the countryside fifteen minutes from Pathos, and oh my goodness was the sun shining! The gorgeous pair seems to do everything in a glamorous location: Mitchell proposed when they were on holiday in the Dominican Republic, with Rosalyn saying yes on the beach as they watched the sunrise. And yes, we are super jealous!
“I actually came to Alice Rose by accident! I put what I thought was the name of my destination into the Satnav, and arrived at Alice Rose thinking that I was super late, whereas in fact I hadn’t booked there at all. However, I loved the place so much as soon as I walked in that I decided it was destiny that my satnav had directed me there! It was so pretty and everybody was so helpful. I didn’t know what I wanted – I just knew I needed something light enough to carry through the airport. I tried on ten dresses and actually ended up picking the lightest, although this wasn’t why I picked it! I was on my own, which I really enjoyed, but then came back with my mum and gran to make the final decision, once I’d narrowed it down.”
“I love the detail on the top of my dress – the leaves are just beautiful! It was perfect for Cyprus as it sparkled in the sunshine. Even though it had a train, it was still really light, so perfect both for travelling and for wearing all day in the heat.”
“I didn’t want a veil as wanted the whole wedding to be chilled out and I wanted to show off the gorgeous back of my dress – I put my hair up too. We had a sax player and a DJ and my dress was so comfortable that I could dance away for hours.”
“My advice when choosing your wedding dress is to take your time. You only get to do it once, so don’t rush to make a decision. I found deciding on my own was really helpful as the only opinion I needed to consider was my own. It’s okay not to know what you want as the team will ask the right questions to help. And because not everybody could make it all the way to Cyprus, when I tried on the dress again, I brought family members who couldn’t come, which felt really special. Oh, and don’t forget to bring your shoes to your alterations appointments as the seamstress won’t touch your hem until you bring them – I learnt the hard way!”
